Tree Planting with Scouts Canada, Chinook Council
The weather could not have been better for our outing with Scouts Canada Chinook Council this year. Under a virtually cloudless sky, members of the INDUSTRYimages team rolled up their sleeves and helped out wherever it was needed as 6,000 saplings got planted over the course of the day.
Combining both the environmental and community support elements of our MyLiiFE program, the day was truly a rewarding experience. Joining in the excitement of the kids was easy as we made our way into areas of the forest that had either
been clear-cut for logging purposes and to control the spread of the pine beetle, or damaged by harsh winds.
It was great to see so many people, young and old, take pride in what we were accomplishing as a team. I think the ear-to-ear grins were the result of knowing that we're making a difference, even if just in a small area of Southern Alberta, that will be there for the enjoyment of generations to come. At least I know it was for me.
The Scouts are a terrific organization - very well organized and provide
great experiences for all levels of those involved. We're proud to have been able to sponsor Scoutrees this year and look forward to doing so for many years to come.
